Things are slowly but surely looking up around here and we’re getting ready to head back out into the world!

We’re testing the waters with a couple trips to Mexico over the next few months. It turns out there are a few more documents required for international travel these days, so we went on a hunt for something to corral it all so we don’t get those annoyed looks in the airport while digging for all the proper documents.

We found these leather document books and I can’t believe how much stuff you can cram in them! It will hold your passport, vaccine card, global entry card, ID, credit cards, paper ticket if you have one, SIM cards and even comes with a pen (which I swear I never have when I need it) for those pesky customs forms, plus RFID blocking technology in the whole thing! I kinda feel like I hit the jackpot with these, but we’ll see how they hold up after being fished through and hastily thrown in bags. Fingers crossed.

Now, while these hold everything, I wouldn’t recommend keeping everything in them beyond the airport, and even then being extremely careful. Pickpockets are real all over the world and putting all your eggs in one basket, so to speak, is not a good idea. We typically leave our passports hidden somewhere in our hotel or securely on our person – it just depends where we are. I carry a small RFID blocking crossbody bag with me that I never take off when we’re out and Jason typically carries a small, locking daypack (more on those later). We have a variety of point generating credit cards as well (more on that later too) that I would recommend divvying up in case something does happen and you find yourself without them. You don’t want ALL of your funds suddenly unavailable, especially so far from home. I recently lost my purse at a a boutique show and it was a terrible feeling when I realized I had ALL our cards, except one, in there, which I never do. We had recently traveled, so I had my travel cards in there, never cleaned it out when I got home and just added my home cards to it. So I spent a week with no access to money and no ID, luckily close to home, while I waited for new cards to arrive. It would have been a MUCH bigger deal with we were outside of the country. Ladies – clean out your purses!

We can’t wait to share all the little travel tips and tricks we’ve learned over the years. We are by no means experts but we are constantly modifying how we travel. We’re getting faster, smarter, finding better deals, it’s becoming easier and we can definitely tell you what NOT to do at this point! Now we will see how much we’ve retained after two years stuck at home.

You can find the document holders on Amazon. We get a tiny kickback if you order through our link and we’d greatly appreciate it!

For the record, we just got back from Mexico and these were so, so helpful to keep ALL the paperwork corralled. So much paperwork. We’ll update you on all of that soon.
